Summer School Plans

 

The 2008 summer program will run for four weeks.  Summer School will begin on Thursday, June 5th and end on Wednesday, July 2nd.

 

The elementary Summer School will be held at Ripona Elementary School, 415 Oregon Street. Students in grades K-8 will be able to enroll in courses designed to strengthen academic skills or enrich their education with experiences in a variety of academic and fine arts areas. There will one four-week session.  Classes will still be from 8:00 am to Noon.

 

Elementary Summer School registration packets will be available in school offices on Monday, April 21st and should be turned in by May 9th.  Remember, your child’s teacher must sign the registration before it may be accepted.

 

The high school Summer School will be held at Ripon High School.  High school counselors have already started meeting with high school students to sign them up for summer courses.  High school summer school registrations are due Friday, May 2nd.

 

All summer school classes (except Driver’s Education) will start June 5th and end July 2nd.  First semester courses will run from 8:00 am to 11:10 am each morning.  Lunch will be from 11:10 to 12:00 Noon.  Second semester courses will run from 12:00 Noon to 3:10 pm each afternoon.  A student needing to make up a first semester class and a second semester class will have to attend summer school from 8:00 a.m. to 3:10 p.m. every day for the full four weeks.

 

Student enrollment will be on a first-come, first served basis.  Course availability will be limited by the number of students registering for a class or the number of teachers hired.
