Dear Ripon Families and Students,
Welcome back to a brand-new school year! We hope your summer was filled with rest, relaxation, and memorable moments with family and friends. As we prepare to open our doors for another exciting year of learning and growth, our dedicated facilities and maintenance crews have been hard at work all summer, ensuring every school site is safe, welcoming, and ready for the first day of school on Wednesday, August 12th.
This school year marks an inspiring milestone for our district as we align our work around an updated Mission. Following valuable feedback gathered from all corners of our learning community, including parents, educators, staff, and community members, we recognized a crucial priority: while our students continue to achieve high academic success, they also need to master essential soft skills to thrive in higher education and the modern workforce.
Mission ~ “Empowering resilient students to learn, lead, and succeed.”
Vision ~ “To foster a generation of future leaders who continuously learn, transform industries, redefine success”
Our updated vision ensures every student is prepared for the future, both inside and outside the classroom. While academic rigor remains foundational, we are placing strong emphasis on cultivating skills that extend far beyond formal schooling:
Collaboration: Working effectively with diverse teams.
Communication: Expressing ideas clearly and listening actively.
Critical Thinking: Analyzing complex problems to find creative solutions.
Perseverance: Developing resilience to navigate challenges and setbacks.
Throughout the year, we will integrate age-appropriate activities across all grade levels to reinforce these core competencies, helping our students develop into confident, adaptable, and well-rounded leaders.
Every child learns differently, and some require extra encouragement and tailored support to reach their full potential. To ensure no student falls behind, we are implementing intentional, targeted direct supports. Students who face academic challenges will receive individualized intervention and dedicated resources to foster measurable growth.
These supportive opportunities will take place both during the regular school day and through the Ripon Afterschool Program (RAP). Each school campus will host its own RAP site, staffed by team members specifically trained to nurture academic, social, and physical growth. Additionally, designated program leads at each campus will work directly with school principals to address the unique needs of their student population.
To further strengthen campus safety, all school sites have transitioned to a new digital sign-in system for visitors and volunteers. Please visit our district website to review the updated definitions and requirements for visitors versus the different tiers of volunteer clearance. You may click on the link to access the information as well. (Visitor/Volunteer Safe) As our school office personnel navigate this new technology during the first few weeks, we kindly ask that you arrive a few minutes early when coming to campus.
Once our staff and community become familiar with the software, the check-in process will be fast, efficient, and seamless. Most importantly, this system provides real-time visibility regarding who is on campus and where they are located, significantly enhancing student and staff safety throughout the school day.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership, trust, and vibrant community spirit. Educating our youth is a shared journey, and together, we are poised to make this our best school year yet. We wish all of our students a safe, healthy, and deeply rewarding school year across all of our campuses!
With sincere gratitude,
Rusty S. Clark
